While, a well-made Defect deck can tackle a huge number of Ascension levels with ease, it's harder to put together a "good stuff" deck with the Defect than the other two classes. Long term it isn't going to necessarily be a linchpin of your deck but for Act 1 and later if you're struggling with energy it's a fantastic way to get extra damage. This automaton may look like an easy build, but it is the toughest class to master in the game. It's a fantastic pick in Act 1 and mostly solves Ironclad's Act 1 damage by itself. Anger is a great way to scale up some early zero cost damage and combos well with Bash in the early game. Ironclad starts with a 2 energy card that inflicts vulnerable and has a lot of good 2+ energy cards. Zore willfully illiterate, aggressively miserable sourpuss whose sole raison d'être is to put other people down for liking the wrong things It's good with: any card draw (eg battle trance), any strength scaling And it makes more of itself which is good when you're done setting up and want to kill the enemy. Why do people like Anger? What kind of cards and relics is it good with? The Battery isn't too bad as it doesn't limit my cards/turn and the Slimes turn into block thanks to Cloak Clasp, but I'll need to draft some draw ASAP.ĭownfall: Red Candle (+2 soulburn per hit), Broken Tooth (+1 strength per elite killed, for that act only), Pocket Sentry (each turn, alternates between 7 damage to single enemy and 1 weak to all enemies), Deflecting Bracer (half of unused Block gets turned into Counter), Makeshift Battery (+1 energy but generate 1 Slimed in discard pile per turn) If not for Fission+ I think Choker is a slam pick. I took Hyperbeam and looked at the Act 1 boss relics: Velvet Choker, Makeshift Battery*, Sacred Bark. Hyperbeam will let me finish off most Act 2 fights no problem, the -Focus isn't as big of a deal for a Darkness-focused deck, and the high energy cost is somewhat compensated for by Cloak Clasp (all these cards I'm not playing because I played Hyperbeam will now become block). Amplify has a very slim chance to work with Echo Form, and Echo Form itself already does Amplify's job pretty much. I think Electrodynamics is kinda meh here, even with the Static Discharge, as I have only one non-damaging way of generating Lightning orbs, and no Focus. I somehow stumbled my way into drafting a "Dark" deck and was able to generate 2-5 Dark orbs per combat and then Dualcast/Fission+ them all off to blast all comers.

(Downfall Edition)Ī15 Defect, just cleared Slime Boss. He was planning all along to have to do all Spire all the time in the last third of the year. One of his stated goals was that he wanted to create a bunch of Spire content.

But now that he's merging "speed-tember" with showboating his ability to win with bizarre cards for his last ~120 wins I am fully engaged I didn't really understand his goal of 100 heartkillz with each character in 2022, because that's easily attainable for a lot of streamers.
